The megalithic group of Antequera, about 40 km north of Malaga, is among the most impressive in Spain. They are huge corbelled chambers (or cuevas) of the Copper Age (2500-1800 BC). Stone slabs, some of them immensely thick, are complemented with fragile dry-stone walls to build complex dolmens complete with covered galleries.
